Like its cousin Perfo Grip Safety Grating, traction tread grating offered by Peterson Company, consists of hundreds of Perforated Metal buttons. The buttons on the stair treads are raised above the surface of the grate instead of lying flush like with Perfo Grip Gratings. The raised buttons canvas a 360° sloped surface which allows the sole of a shoe to grip in all directions thus giving more traction to the user. The perforations in center of the buttons found in the traction tread allows spillage to quickly drain and break its oil slick as well as remove detergent and other slick substances away from the walking surface. Since the Perforated Metal holes are manufactured in the non slip stair treads at an angle, cleaning is never a hassle. Industrial workers are often amazed by a stair tread product with such small holes that offers both excellent gripping power and a rapid ability to drain slippery substances.
Traction Stair Treads, unlike rubber stair treads, are suited well for pedestrian traffic due to their increased traction ability during high use situations. The non slip stair treads are the preferred Perforated Metal grating for architects because it allows women in high heeled shoes to walk comfortably with out fear of slipping or getting caught up. Our safety stair treads have a variety of uses such as residential or pedestrian walkways, floor grating, mezzanines, ramps, stair treads, equipment platforms, scaffold planks or plank grating, or resurfacing of worn surfaces. Traction Tread is a popular option when replacing crumbling concrete stair treads. Traction Stair Treads can also be used for large area flooring and ladder rungs. Our traction tread plank grating is available as floor grating in long or short planks as well as 36” x 120” sheets.
