Expanded metal grating products are used for a variety of uses such as walkways, catwalks, screens, fencing, window guards, open trash containers, vent covers and many more applications. Peterson Company carries expanded metal in a variety of materials such as aluminum expanded metal, stainless expanded metal, galvanized expanded metal, carbon steel expanded metal, copper expanded metal, brass expanded metal and titanium expanded metal.
One of the many uses of expanded metal grating is catwalk or mezzanine grating. An expanded metal grate is the safe and economical alternative to more complicated grating products. Oftentimes expanded metal grating can be installed on walkways without any additional fabrication or shearing. The expanded metal panels are produced with LWD spanning width of the sheet. We carry 2’-0, 2’-6, and 4’-0 wide sheets and if necessary can fabricate a custom decorative expanded metal sheet to fit your needs.
Flat – Expanded metal that is cold-rolled
after expansion, to provide a smooth, flat and level sheet.
The flattening process will reduce the original thickness
by approximately 10%.
Regular – Standard expanded metal with raised diamonds.
Strand Width – Width of 1 strand.
Strand Thickness – Gauge thickness of strand.
Bond Edge – Part produced with closed diamonds.
Auxiliary Operations – In-line slitting can
be provided holding tolerances as + -.005
inch. Circle shearing, edge flattening and
expanded metal mesh bending are also available.
Squareness- An expanded metal mesh plank
will be square to within the largest
tolerance of length or width. (Example)
Part size 24” (+-1/32) LWD x 24” (+-1/16)
SWD will be square to within 1/16”.
All expanded metals can be custom fabricated or retrofitted.
