Steel bar grating is both an economical and practical building material due to its low manufacturing cost, high load strength and adaptability to fit most industrial or commercial uses. Bar grating is used for many applications such as catwalks, platforms, stairs, grills, grates, fencing, vaults, ventilated bin floors, ramps, loading docks, food preparation areas, fire escapes, window and machinery grate guards, wash racks, running boards, ventilation screens and many more applications.
Our bar grating products are designed with round metal bars or rectangular cross members. The rectangular bar grating structure provides optimal strength with a minimal amount of steel material. We fabricate four types of bar grating products: Plain Surface Forge Welded Steel Grating, Dovetail Pressure Locked Grating, Riveted Steel Grating and Swagged Gratings. Each manufacturing process offers a variety of designs, spacing options, finishes and custom add-ons.
Each bar grating product is selected to meet the specifications our consumer’s projects. Proper design for bar gratings includes determination of material, construction of gratings, loading conditions, unsupported clear span, surface treatment, finish and edge banding. All of our standard steel grating, metal grating/metal grate, custom steel grates, aluminum bar grating and floor grating meet or exceed manufacturing regulations including all of our ADA Grate and ADA Grating products.
Our bar grating products come in a variety of finishes.
It is important to choose the right bar grating product to meet the application and environment it will face on a daily basis. The Peterson Company sales staff can help you select the bar grating or other grating product that will meet your specific requirements.
